The Oval


Working out on a track, with a group, always seems to get results. The combination of a coach, people pushing you, and the desire to hold pace really create a great training environment. The picture above shows the track that we use for our speed workouts. The group is usually pretty small (about 10 runners). We meet Thursdays at 6:30 PM and work with an Irish guy named Michael Roberts. He e-mails the workouts in advance so that an appropriate level of apprehension is in place when we begin. The workouts are tough, but I know that they will make HUGE differences in my running performance.
